God’s Woman vs Sex, Lovemaking & Eternal Life
“God is the eternal, Holy Creator and Lord of all, the one true and living God, who is Spirit, love, and truth, revealed as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and known through His Word and His works.”
📖 God’s Purpose for All, According to Scripture

Who God Calls Women to Be
1. Created in God’s Image
Genesis 1:27 – “So God created man in His own image… male and female He created them.”
➝🙋🏽♀️ Women were created to reflect God’s image equally with men, bearing His likeness and value.
2. A Helper Suitable
Genesis 2:18 – “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
➝🙋🏽♀️ The word helper in Hebrew is ʿēzer, also used of God as Israel’s helper (Psalm 33:20). This means strength, support, and partnership, not inferiority.
3. Fruitful & Nurturing
Genesis 1:28 – “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it.”
➝🙋🏽♀️ Women were called to partner with men in multiplying life, stewarding creation, and raising generations in the knowledge of God.
4. Holy & Set Apart
1 Peter 3:3–4 – “Rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God.”
➝🙋🏽♀️ God calls women to cultivate inner holiness, not just outward beauty.
5. Teachers & Builders
Titus 2:3–5 – Older women are called to teach younger women how to live wisely, love their families, and walk in purity.
Proverbs 14:1 – “The wise woman builds her house, but the foolish pulls it down with her hands.”
➝🙋🏽♀️ God calls women to be builders of homes, families, and communities in wisdom.
6. Servants & Disciples of Christ
Luke 8:1–3 – Women followed and supported Jesus’ ministry.
Acts 18:26 – Priscilla, with Aquila, taught Apollos the way of God more accurately.
Romans 16:1–2 – Phoebe is commended as a servant (deacon) of the church.
➝🙋🏽♀️ God calls women to be active participants in ministry and discipleship.
7. The Bride of Christ (Collectively)
Ephesians 5:25–27 – The Church, described as Christ’s Bride, is called to holiness and glory.
➝🙋🏽♀️ Women (and men) together are called to be the faithful Bride of Christ, prepared for His return.
Two Different Kinds of Love
1. Agapē Love (God’s Love)
Definition: The highest, selfless love. It is sacrificial, unconditional, and rooted in God’s character.
Biblical Examples:
John 3:16 – “For God so loved (agapē) the world that He gave His only begotten Son.”
1 Corinthians 13:4–7 – Patient, kind, not self-seeking, never fails.
Romans 5:8 – God showed His love while we were still sinners.
Nature:
Chooses to love regardless of feelings.
Seeks the other’s good, not self-gratification.
Reflects God’s holiness and faithfulness.
👉 Agapē is God’s kind of love — perfect, eternal, and pure.
2. Erotic Love (Eros)
Definition: Sexual or romantic love; physical attraction and passion. The Greek word eros (not used in the Bible text itself, but in surrounding Greek culture) describes this.
Biblical Context:
God created sexual love within marriage:
Song of Solomon celebrates romantic and physical desire between husband and wife.
Hebrews 13:4 calls the marriage bed honorable.
Nature:
Rooted in desire, attraction, and physical intimacy.
Good and holy when expressed in covenant marriage.
Can be corrupted when removed from God’s boundaries (lust, fornication, adultery).
👉 Erotic love is human passion, which can be beautiful when sanctified in marriage, but destructive if twisted by sin.
God’s Design for Lovemaking
1. Within Covenant Marriage
Genesis 2:24 – “Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.”
Hebrews 13:4 – “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
👉 💖 The Bible teaches that sexual intimacy is designed for the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Anything outside this is considered sin.
2. Exclusive & Faithful
Exodus 20:14 – “You shall not commit adultery.”
Malachi 2:15 – God desires a holy union where husband and wife are faithful to one another.
👉 💖 Sexual relationship is meant to be exclusive — no adultery, no unfaithfulness.
3. Loving, Not Selfish
1 Corinthians 7:3–5 – “Let the husband render to his wife the affection due her, and likewise also the wife to her husband… Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time… and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you.”
Ephesians 5:25, 28 – Husbands are commanded to love their wives as Christ loves the Church, sacrificially.
👉 💖 Sexual intimacy is about mutual love, respect, and care, not selfish use.
4. Pure, Not Defiled
1 Thessalonians 4:3–4 – “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor.”
Colossians 3:5 – Sexual impurity and lust are to be put to death.
👉 💖 God calls sexual relationship to be holy, honorable, and pure, not driven by lust outside of God’s order.
5. Fruitful, Not Exploitative
Genesis 1:28 – “Be fruitful and multiply.”
Psalm 127:3 – “Children are a heritage from the LORD.”
👉 💖 The sexual union has a God-given purpose — intimacy, bonding, and the potential for life. It is not meant for exploitation or casual indulgence.
History of Biblical Marriage
📜 1. Marriage in Creation (God’s Original Design)
Genesis 2:18, 24 – God created woman as a “helper suitable” for man. Marriage was a covenant union of one man and one woman becoming one flesh.
This was not arranged by families, but directly by God — Adam receives Eve from the Lord.
Marriage was designed as:
Companionship (“It is not good that man should be alone”),
Union (one flesh),
Fruitfulness (“be fruitful and multiply” – Genesis 1:28).
🏺 2. Patriarchal Period (Arranged & Covenant-based)
In Abraham’s time, marriages were arranged within families and tribes to preserve lineage and covenant blessing.
Genesis 24 – Abraham sends a servant to find a wife (Rebekah) for Isaac, showing family-arranged unions sealed with gifts and oaths.
A marriage covenant was often sealed by:
Gifts or bride-price (mohar) (Genesis 34:12).
Public agreements between families.
Sexual consummation (Genesis 24:67).
👉 Marriage was less about romance and more about covenant, family alliances, and producing heirs.
👑 3. Marriage Under the Law (Mosaic Era)
Exodus 22:16–17; Deuteronomy 22:28–29 – The Law included protections for women, especially in cases of premarital sex.
Deuteronomy 24:1–4 – Divorce was tolerated for “hardness of heart,” but God never intended it (Jesus clarifies this in Matthew 19:8).
Levirate marriage – If a man died childless, his brother was to marry the widow to preserve family lineage (Deuteronomy 25:5–10). Example: Ruth and Boaz.
Polygamy – Practiced but regulated. Kings were warned not to multiply wives (Deuteronomy 17:17).
👉 Marriage was seen as a legal and covenantal bond, deeply tied to family inheritance and Israel’s covenant identity.
🏛️ 4. Marriage in the Royal & Prophetic Period
Kings often had multiple wives and concubines (David, Solomon). These were often political alliances.
Prophets used marriage as a metaphor for Israel’s covenant with God.
Hosea 2:19–20 – God describes His relationship to Israel as a marriage covenant.
Unfaithfulness to God is compared to adultery (Jeremiah 3:6–9).
👉 Marriage became a symbol of covenant faithfulness or betrayal.
✡️ 5. Marriage in Second Temple Judaism (Intertestamental Times)
By Jesus’ day, Jewish marriage customs included:
Betrothal (kiddushin) – a legally binding engagement (Joseph and Mary, Matthew 1:18–19).
Bride-price / dowry – still practiced.
Wedding feasts – celebrated with joy, often lasting days (John 2:1–11, the wedding at Cana).
Marriages were arranged but personal choice began to play a bigger role.
✝️ 6. Marriage in the New Testament
Jesus restores God’s original design: one man, one woman, one covenant.
Matthew 19:4–6 – “What God has joined together, let not man separate.”
Marriage is elevated to a picture of Christ and the Church.
Ephesians 5:22–33 – Husbands love as Christ loves the Church, wives respect and submit as the Church to Christ.
Paul teaches:
Mutuality – Each spouse belongs to the other (1 Corinthians 7:3–5).
Singleness is honorable if devoted to God (1 Corinthians 7:32–34).
👉 Marriage is no longer just a family alliance, but a spiritual covenant pointing to Christ’s love for His Bride.
👿 Who is the Enemy?
Satan (the adversary) – once an angel who fell because of pride (Isaiah 14:12–15; Ezekiel 28:12–17).
The Devil – accuser of the brethren (Revelation 12:9–10).
The Serpent – deceiver from the beginning (Genesis 3:1–5).
The Thief – “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” (John 10:10).
👉 He is not God’s equal, but a created being in rebellion — defeated at the cross yet still active in deception.
🎯 The Enemy’s Main Strategies
1. Twisting God’s Word and Design
Genesis 3:1–4 – The serpent questions God’s word: “Did God really say?”
Satan takes what God made good and perverts it (sex → lust, worship → idolatry, freedom → bondage).
👉 Example: Lovemaking (covenant intimacy) → reduced to sex (lust & transaction).
2. Counterfeiting God’s Purpose
2 Corinthians 11:14 – Satan masquerades as an angel of light.
He offers imitation pleasures, power, and identity that look attractive but lead to emptiness.
👉 Example: God gives women purpose and honor → enemy pushes shame, confusion, and objectification.
3. Accusing and Condemning
Revelation 12:10 – He accuses believers before God day and night.
John 8:44 – “He is a liar and the father of it.”
👉 He tries to make you believe you are worthless, unloved, or condemned, when God calls you chosen and redeemed.
4. Enslaving Through Sin
John 8:34 – “Whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”
1 Peter 5:8 – “Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”
👉 He lures people into sin to trap them, then uses guilt and shame to keep them bound.
5. Distracting and Dividing
Matthew 13:19 – He snatches the Word from hearts.
John 17:21 – Jesus prayed for unity, because the enemy divides God’s people.
👉 He keeps us busy, confused, or divided so we lose focus on God’s mission.
What Is Sex Outside Of God’s Plan?
1. Sex Outside of Marriage (Fornication)
Hebrews 13:4 – “Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.”
1 Corinthians 6:18 – “Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.”
1 Thessalonians 4:3 – “For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality.”
👉 Any sexual activity before or outside of marriage is out of bounds.
2. Adultery
Exodus 20:14 – “You shall not commit adultery.”
Proverbs 6:32 – “Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding; he who does so destroys his own soul.”
Matthew 5:27–28 – Jesus raises the bar: lustful intent itself is adultery in the heart.
👉 Sexual betrayal in marriage is condemned.
3. Homosexual Acts
Leviticus 18:22 – “You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”
Romans 1:26–27 – Describes same-sex relations as “against nature” and dishonoring.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10 – Lists homosexual practice among sins that exclude from God’s kingdom — but also points to redemption in Christ (v.11).
👉 The design of sex is male + female covenant; anything outside that is forbidden.
4. Incest (Relations with Close Family)
Leviticus 18:6–18 – Gives a list of forbidden relations (mother, sister, daughter-in-law, aunt, etc.).
👉 🚫 God calls these abominations, cutting against the order of family.
5. Prostitution & Casual Sex
Deuteronomy 23:17–18 – Israelite men and women were not to become cult prostitutes.
1 Corinthians 6:15–16 – Paul rebukes union with prostitutes because believers’ bodies are members of Christ.
👉 🚫 Using sex transactionally or casually is out of bounds.
6. Bestiality
Leviticus 18:23 – “Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it.”
👉 🚫 Sex with animals is strongly condemned.
7. Rape or Coercion
Deuteronomy 22:25–27 – Condemns forcing a woman; equated with murder in seriousness.
👉 🚫 God does not permit sex without mutual consent within covenant marriage.
8. Idolatrous & Defiled Sex
Leviticus 18:24–30 – Sexual sins defile the land and were tied to pagan worship.
Revelation 2:20–22 – Warns against sexual immorality tied to false teaching.
👉 🚫 Sex connected to idolatry (fertility cults, temple prostitution, pornographic lusts) is unclean before God.
In Bible times:
Pagan temples often had cult prostitutes (male & female).
Sex acts were used in rituals to “honor” false gods.
Sexual immorality was tied to idolatry and worship practices (Baal, Asherah, fertility gods).
In 2025 terms, this could be likened to:
Pornography as modern temple prostitution – digital screens and platforms becoming altars of lust where people sacrifice purity, time, and money.
Sexuality tied to celebrity/idol culture – where people elevate sex appeal, erotic imagery, or influencers as objects of worship.
Spiritualized sexuality in occult / new age circles – some modern movements mix “energy” practices with sexual rituals, echoing ancient pagan fertility worship.
Commercialized sex industries – OnlyFans, strip clubs, and escorting often become life-controlling systems, like temple prostitution in Canaan.
Self-idolatry through lust – using sex primarily to gratify the self rather than to honor God or love a spouse.
Does the Bible Mention Masturbation?
The Bible does not explicitly name masturbation (self-stimulation).
The closest story often linked is Onan in Genesis 38:8–10, but his sin was not masturbation, it was refusing to fulfill his duty of providing an heir to his brother by intentionally spilling his seed. His act was judged because of disobedience and selfishness, not specifically the method. It was the intent of His heart that he was judged for.
👉 So, masturbation as a word or act is not directly mentioned in Scripture.
Where It Fits in Jesus’ Teaching
Even though the Bible doesn’t directly forbid or name masturbation, the principles of sexual purity make it clear why it’s considered out of God’s boundaries for us:
Lustful Intent
Matthew 5:27–28 – Jesus said that even looking with lust is adultery of the heart.
Masturbation usually involves lustful imagination or pornography, which falls under this command.
Sexual Immorality (Porneia)
1 Thessalonians 4:3–5 – God’s will is that His people avoid sexual immorality and control their bodies in holiness and honor.
Masturbation often is tied to indulgence of the flesh, not holiness.
Selfish Use of the Body
1 Corinthians 6:18–20 – Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, bought with a price.
Sexual acts were designed for giving and covenant intimacy, not self-gratification.
Let Us Do Therefore What God Desires
To do what God desires is to:
Love Him above all.
Love others genuinely.
Walk in holiness and purity.
Do justice, show mercy, and stay humble.
Believe in and follow Jesus Christ.
